Giants skipper Danny Brough has been playing an active role in supporting Foxy Bingo’s ‘Ladies of the League’ campaign.

A nationwide competition is well under way to find women at all levels of the game who are going the extra mile for their rugby league club or community.

And Brough joined the judging panel at the John Smith’s Stadium to discuss the 10 candidates in line for the ‘Ladies of the League’ crown.

That panel was led by Sky Sports RL reporter Angela Powers, who is the founder of ‘Her Rugby League Association’, and said “The 10 women on the shortlist epitomise the many ways in which women and girls influence, support and encourage rugby league to be the fantastic sport that it is.

“Finding just one winner is going to be very difficult!”

Also on the panel is Brough’s wife, Jenna, who is a keen charity fundraiser and regularly takes part in events such as the Super League WAGS walk, supported by Foxy Bingo earlier in the year.

“I’m honoured to be chosen to judge this category of ladies on their dedication and inspirational efforts, and look forward to giving some one the recognition they deserve,” she said.

The judges are in the process of narrowing the ladies list down to the top five, with the finalists invited to attend the Super League Man of Steel awards.

The winner will receive the Ladies of the League trophy, £1,000 holiday vouchers and a £1,000 donation to a club community project of her choice.
