Modest Danny Brough believes he has yet to prove he’s Huddersfield RLFC’s greatest player.

But he admits he would honoured to be a part of a debate over who it could be.

The 30-year-old Super League Man of Steel was this week officially named the world’s best stand-off at the Rugby League International Federation’s annual dinner in Manchester.

That proves the Giants skipper is one of the world’s best players.

But he’s happy to stand aside and let others decide where he rates in Huddersfield’s all-time line-up.

“Deciding who’s the greatest would be a good debate,” he revealed.

“And if it was decided it was me, I’d take it, that’s for sure.

“But I personally think I’ve still got a long way to go before I could claim it. This club has had some amazing players over the years.

“I’m also not the type of bloke who likes to speak a lot about themselves.

“Every time I’ve collected one of these individual awards I’ve always made a point of saying how the players around me are responsible for what I’m able to do.

“Without their support, I know I wouldn’t have achieved this level of success.

“So I’ll let others decide where they think I rate in any debate like this.

“But it is an honour to be considered.”
