Giants star Jermaine McGillvary is the world’s best rugby league winger – and that’s official!

The 26-year-old has been named in the prestigious World XIII, chosen by a 28-strong panel featuring leading RL writers and former winners of the Golden Boot Award, which is presented to the best player in the world.

McGillvary’s selection comes less than a week after he made his full England debut and helped his country secure a 2-1 Test series success over New Zealand.

He was also named in the Super League Dream Team for the first time last month after finishing top of the Super League tryscoring charts with 27.

McGillvary is one of two Englishmen in the World XIII, with Leeds Rhinos centre Kallum Watkins also selected.

Australian Johnathan Thurston, who has won the Golden Boot award for a record third time, is one of seven Australian players in the World XIII, while two Pacific Islanders, Semi Radradra and Anthony Milford, make the line-up for the first time.
