Gutted centre Leroy Cudjoe believes the Huddersfield Giants have to re-find their killer streak.

In Huddersfield’s last two games, they have built up leads and then allowed their opponents to force their way back and gain something from the contest.

The Giants threw away a 24-6 half-time lead to draw 24-24 at home to Hull KR eight days ago.

Then on Friday night, Cudjoe and his teammates let slip an early 10-0 lead to trail 12-10 at the break before regaining an eight-point second-half advantage and then falling away again to suffer a demoralising 22-20 defeat.

And the England centre knows it’s time the Giants did something about it.

“As a group we’re feeling really disappointed,” admitted Cudjoe, who was able to shrug off an early knee knock at Widnes and will be fully fit for Friday’s big home clash against Leeds Rhinos.

“Two weeks on the bounce now we’ve drawn and lost games we should have won.

“When your leading teams by 10 points or more you’ve got to go for the kill and put the game to bed.

“That’s obviously something we’re not doing at the moment, so we need to sort that out – and quickly.

“As soon as we rediscover that killer streak we’ll start to make teams suffer once again.”

And those sentiments were echoed by head coach Paul Anderson.

“We probably need to do some practice closing games out,” he said.

“Once again we made some things look easy and some things look very hard.

“Our concentration and attention has to be better – all round we have to improve.

“There was a little bit of indiscipline with regard to our systems. We’ve got to make sure we get a response.”
