New Centurion Leroy Cudjoe is hoping there will be much for him and the Huddersfield Giants to be celebrating by the end of the 2015 Super League season writes Chris Roberts.

The 27-year-old centre grabbed his 100th career try in the 34-24 triumph over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats as the Giants secured a top-four finish ahead of the Super 8s.

The former Newsome Panthers junior was delighted to reach the landmark before the eight-club battle to reach the Grand Final in October.

But he’s hoping the tries he scores over the next few months will prove far more important in the Giants’ bid for Old Trafford glory.

“I’ve been stuck on 99 tries for a couple of weeks now, so I knew this was my 100th,” said Cudjoe. “I’m proud to have reached this landmark, but I’m obviously looking for a lot more between now and whenever I call it a day.

“Over the years, there have been some pretty memorable ones.

“The one that stands out the most is that long-range interception in the play-off win at Warrington five years ago, when it helped us get to within a game of our first Grand Final.

“I’d love to score something like that again – and obviously reach Old Trafford this time around.

“We know we’re going to have to improve a lot for that to happen, but if we turn up with the right attitude in the Super 8s – that was something we didn’t do against Wakefield – then we know we’ll give ourselves a good chance.”
