SHAUN LUNT'S season is over.
The Giants' England hooker has been forced to undergo groin surgery and will not be seen again in Super League XVI.
Head coach Nathan Brown had hoped the 24-year-old would be able to play through the pain for the rest of the campaign.
But after scans confirmed the full extent of the damage, the club were convinced action needed to be taken sooner rather than later.
"Lunty has been training and playing in a fair bit of pain, so we felt this was the best course of action for us to take," said Brown.
