WERE you there, were you there? ‘Where’s that?’ you may ask! The places supporters go of course.

First, on January 15 we had the pantomime, with players taking part in the chorus.

A ‘pretty’ sight to see, especially Brett and Eorl excelling in their dad dancing. And as for Luke George, well ‘Strictly eat your heart out’!.

Second, on January 25, we had our Start of Season Dinner at the Maremonte restaurant.

It was well-attended and everyone who came said how much they’d enjoyed their evening.

If you weren’t there consider coming next time, to join in the fun.

Third and last, but certainly not least, Langtree Park, St Helens on February 2, 2013.

Many of us went in hope rather than expectation, after the pre-season matches.

Saints fans, on the other hand, were full of expectation after their pre-season.

Expectations shattered, many were leaving the ground 15 minutes into the second half, with ungrudging words of praise for our lads.

Much was written and many comments made in the media, but words cannot express fully the euphoria of the Giants fans whose voice could be heard all around the ground.

This rose to an absolute roar when Shaun Lunt put the icing on our cake, much to the dismay, we’re sure, of a certain Mr N Brown.

Being a member of the Supporters Association means you can go to an away match and chat to folk you may have only nodded to in the past.

As we get to know one another better, the bond between supporters grows which, in turn, makes us much more positive and vocal in supporting our players on the field.

That encourages the players into better performances; we’ve all heard them say how much the crowd can help to lift a game.

Our next match, at which we are having a pre-match junior disco in the Fantastic Media Suite from 1pm, is against the Broncos on Sunday, will you be there? We will!

On February 17 at home to Wigan there’s a pre-match band in the Fantastic Media Suite (1pm).

And on Monday, March 4 there’s a fans forum at the stadium (7.15pm), and see our revamped website, www.giantssupporters.co.uk for full details.
