IN a relatively quiet week, it’s probably the right time for the Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association to list the events planned so far for the rest of the season.
So here it is!
May 1: Turnbridge WMC. Paul Kilbride from the RFL Benevolent Fund. Paul, along with Stewart Walker and Craig Mosedale made such an impression last year that an impromptu raffle was organised, raising over £60 for the Fund. Can you imagine playing Rugby League in a wheelchair? Paul and Stewart do!
June 5: Turnbridge WMC. How sports science is important to rugby league.
June 24: Galpharm Fantastic Media Suite. Junior disco.
July 3: Turnbridge WMC. We’re planning an extra-special guest!
July 13: Turnbridge WMC. Giant Olympic Games. This is similar to the fabulously successful ‘Reindeer Race Night’ held last December. This time the races will be themed around the Olympics. We need people/organisations to buy 36 athletes at £2 each. In addition, we need six events sponsoring. The cost is £5.50 (TBC) to cover buffet.
August 7: Turnbridge WMC. Jason McCartney MP, who is a member of the RL Parliamentary Committee. A non-political evening!
TBA: Cricket Match. Giants Supporters v SO Else – a fancy dress spectacular!
September 4: Turnbridge WMC. Former Yorkshire cricketer Matthew Wood.
October 2: Turnbridge WMC. AGM.
October 19: Turnbridge WMC. Charity Quiz Night Challenge. This event will be for any team of four people, with proceeds to the RL Benevolent Fund.
November 6: Turnbridge WMC. RFL Controller of Referees Stuart Cummins. Dare you attend and listen in silence?
December 7: Turnbridge WMC. Reindeer Race Night. We need people/organisations to buy 36 athletes at £2 each. In addition, we need six events sponsoring. Cost of buffet supper approximately £5.50.
Please note the Turnbridge events are 7.30 pm for a 7.45 pm start unless otherwise stated.
