THE Giants ‘homecoming’ fixture against Hull KR has been rearranged after being selected for Sky TV.

The club had already started promoting the fixture at the Galpharm as they return to the ground after playing three Super League fixtures at Halifax’s Shay Stadium while their own pitch was re-laid.

However, due to game being selected for live screening by Sky, it will now be played on Saturday, July 30, with a 7.15 kick off, rather than on the following day as originally scheduled.

The Giants recently embarked on an extensive marketing campaign based on attracting a large crowd for the fixture, which has been reflected in strong early sales for the Sunday date, which would have included a 3.00 kick-off time.

Giants marketing and media manager James Brammer said: “The fact that Sky have chosen to select our fixture shows what we already knew, that the game promises to be a great contest.

“There will be a carnival atmosphere around the ground as the side return to the Galpharm Stadium, and we are pleased with sales so far.”

The club have special pre-purchase ticket prices for the occasion and are still hoping to attract a bumper attendance.

It is the 10th time this season that the Giants have featured on Sky TV.

And on four of those occasions the date of the match has changed from the fixture list published at the start of the Super League campaign.
