Huddersfield Giants’ England Academy International prop forward Tyler Dickinson will continue his development next season with Keighley Cougars.

The 19-year-old forward spent the end of the 2015 campaign with the Cougars on loan, only missing the last game through injury.

Keighley head coach Paul March was keen for Dickinson to stay and said: “Tyler fitted in really well and also played really well for us.

“I used him at both prop and loose forward and you could see his performances grow as he became used to the level and more comfortable in our team.

“I spoke to the Giants straight after the season as we can guarantee him some first team action.

“Tyler was keen and fortunately the Giants were too. I know he is part of their long term plans and I’m sure a year here with us will help him on his way.”

Giants head coach Paul Anderson said: “The continuation for Tyler at Keighley is perfect for his development.

“He, like all our players here, faces a tough pre-season campaign and I expect him to make some significant strength and fitness gains which he then has to transfer onto the field in terms of performance.

“Marchy has given him an opportunity and last year he took it so I look forward to him pushing on again next year in what I’m sure will be a Keighley team that will expect to be at the top end of that league.”
