Huddersfield Giants have turned back the clock 100 years with the design of their 2014 Super League shirt.

Next season will mark the centenary of Fartown’s most famous campaign when the legendary ‘Team of All Talents’ secured a clean sweep of the four top trophies.

By the end of the 1914 season, Huddersfield had won the Championship, the Challenge Cup, the Yorkshire Cup and the Yorkshire League Champions trophy.

And to pay homage to one of the most famous teams in rugby league history – their domination would have continued had it not been for the outbreak of the First World War – the Giants of 2014 will defend their Super League Leaders’ Shield wearing a claret and gold shirt based on the design from 100 years ago.

Giants officials are confident the ‘new’ look will prove a hit, with the shirt going on sale at the John Smith’s Stadium Superstore on Monday.

“We feel this is a fitting way to pay tribute to the ‘Team of All Talents’ of 100 years ago,” said marketing and media chief James Brammer.

“We’re sure it’ll prove particularly appealing to the traditionalists, although it’s noticeable how many of our younger supporters also enjoy wearing the claret and gold hoops, too.

“Overall, we’re absolutely delighted with how the shirt looks.”

The shirt is available in adult sizes from Small to XXXX-Large priced at £48, while they are £38 in children’s sizes.
