FORMER Huddersfield Giants winger Alex Brown can’t wait to do battle against his hometown club.
Brown is one of five ex-Huddersfield men in the Hull KR squad for tonight’s Craven Park clash – Greg Eden, David Hodgson, Graeme Horne and Adam Walker are the others.
But the 25-year-old flier feels his bond with this evening’s opponents is stronger than anyone else’s.
“I always look forward to playing against Huddersfield, because it’s ‘home’,” he said.
“And I’ll be doing my best to put in a good performance as all of my family still live there.
“I’m pretty sure I’ll get a text off Jermaine McGillvary at some stage today to give me some stick, so I’ll be sending him one back. It’s all in good fun.
“But I also know this game is going to be a massive challenge for us.
“Huddersfield are flying high at the minute and we’re going to need to be at our very best.
“You can pick out players like Danny Brough and Eorl Crabtree, but there are others around them who put the side on the front foot.
“We know Danny has a great left foot and that he likes to kick early in the tackle count. He’s the one who pulls the strings so we know that we need to keep a close eye on him.
“It should be a great game.”
