GIANTS squadbuilder supremo Allan Bamber has expressed his delight at the success of the new club scheme.
His Squadbuilder team hold their biggest event of the year on Saturday, with the ABBA Forever concert at the McAlpine Stadium (8.00).
Bamber is confident it will prove a major financial success, helping to raise more cash to support year-long loan signing Stuart Jones from St Helens.
And the Giants director believes that with the impact the 22-year-old back-rower has made, the supporters should come out in force.
"As far as I'm concerned, Stuart has been worth his weight in gold," said Bamber.
"He's been one of our most consistent players this season by far.
"And I don't think anyone has complained about putting their hands in their pockets to support the squadbuilder fund because they can see that in Stuart it's going to a good cause.
"A tremendous amount of hard work has been put in to raise the cash for Stuart.
"But I think everyone who saw his fabulous dummy which brought him his try at London Broncos would feel all that hard work and effort has been worthwhile.
"We've raised around £18,000 so far, but the hope is to reach £25,000 by the end of the year.
"Hopefully, we'll be a lot closer to that after Saturday night, which I'm sure will be a fantastic occasion.
"Tickets are just £10 from the Giants office or you can pay on the night. We can't wait for it to start.
"And, after all, it's for a great cause."
Members of the Giants Squadbuilder committee include Bamber, secretary Stuart Greaves from the Vice Presidents, and Ida Rothery and Pat Lodge-Thomas from the Flyers.
