Jordan Cox has been recalled by Hull KR, bringing the curtain down on his stay at Huddersfield Giants.

The 22-year-old forward had been at the John Smith’s Stadium on a month’s loan.

Rovers boss Chris Chester called him back in the midst of an injury crisis and in the wake of Friday’s 60-0 Super League thrashing at Wigan.

With Giants coach Paul Anderson confident Michael Lawrence will have recovered from a knee injury – suffered during the 24-24 draw at home to Leeds – he believes they still have the pack strength capable of helping achieve victory at Salford on Friday.

“Jordan did a good job for us in the month he was here,” said Anderson.

“At the end of the day he is Hull KR’s player and as soon as Chris contacted me, we let Jordan return.

“Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, Jordan didn’t feature in the last two games he was here because of illness. He has gone back, but we have the players capable of going to Salford and getting the win.”

Lawrence was the only player injured against the Rhinos and is expected to come back into the reckoning as the Giants prepare to visit the AJ Bell Stadium with the aim of extending their unbeaten run to three matches.
