NEW Giants Super League squad members Thomas Hemingway and Jason Southwell are looking to celebrate their promotions in style!

The talented duo are both included in the Junior Academy side to entertain Keighley at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday (12.30).

The game is being played as a curtain-raiser to the Giants v Castleford Super League clash at 3.00.

And 17-year-old stand-off Hemingway and 18-year-old prop Southwell will be expected to lead the team to a big First Division win to keep their play-off bid on track.

Southwell picked up an ankle injury in training this week, but everything suggests he will be available to lead the pack.

"This match should be a great opportunity for the fans to see our quality young players in action on a big stage," said football manager Stuart Sheard.

"I know the lads are excited about playing at the stadium."

With the game kicking-off at 12.30, turnstiles will open at 12.00 on the Lawrence Batley side only.

Giants: Hull; Sutherland, Dunbar, Robinson, George (L); Hemingway, Simpson; Holdsworth, Tillotson, Southwell, George (S), Flaherty, Clare. Subs (From); Cudjoe, Watson, Martin, Wilkinson, Lawson, Gee, Jones.

LAST night's Senior Academy clash between the Giants and Salford at Huddersfield YMCA's Laund Hill ground was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Both teams and the referee arrived at the venue to find the pitch completely under water.

And now the pressure is on to find a new date for the match to be re-played as quickly as possible.

Because the play-offs get under way in the next two weeks, the League fixtures have to be completed by Monday.

That means this postponed match may have to be switched to Salford as the Giants' Academy venues are unlikely to be available at such short notice, particularly as many are still under water!
