RELIEVED Giants coach Jon Sharp is hopeful of having Paul Reilly and Brandon Costin available for the Super League trip to London Broncos on Sunday week.

Both players picked up worrying knocks during Friday's 20-0 home defeat to Hull FC.

Costin suffered a hamstring injury in the opening moments of the contest, while Reilly suffered a suspected broken jaw late on.

But weekend medical checks have revealed the damaged should not prevent them from making immediate returns to action.

"Paul went to hospital straight after the Hull game to see if his jaw had been broken," said Sharp.

"Fortunately, it was revealed he has suffered heavy bruising, although his jaw is obviously going to painful for a little while.

"And everything with Brandon suggests he's suffered a hamstring pull rather than a tear.

"We've now got a free weekend for Paul and Brandon to recover fully from their knocks, so they'll hopefully come back stronger.

"But that also applies to a lot of players in the squad.

"Next weekend will be our first weekend off since the start of the season, and I'm sure everyone will benefit from the rest.

"There are a lot of bruised bodies in my squad right now."
