GIANTS Reserve coach Paul Cook is looking for his side to carry on from where they left off at Hull when they entertain Leeds Rhinos at Huddersfield YMCA tonight (7.30).
Cook’s men won 16-12 at Hull in their last game on April, and he is confident a similar performance tonight could be enough to see off their visitors and make it three wins from six starts.
“I thought the team played well at Hull, and the aim is to maintain that form against Leeds,” said Cook, who is hoping to field a virtually unchanged side.
“I thought the return of Tom Hemingway (following injury) made a big difference for us.
“Although he needs to work on his match fitness and his timing was a bit out after such a long time on the sidelines, he gave us a bit of direction, which was crucial.
“Michael Korkidas, left, was also in great form, and I was delighted for him.
“It’s been tough for him because of the way the club’s senior props have been performing, but he’s remaining positive and doing everything he can to remain in the frame. He’s doing all the right things.”
Huddersfield’s Academy side also take on Leeds Rhinos, visiting Stanningley for a noon meeting tomorrow.
