Leroy Cudjoe aims to turn on top form for Huddersfield Giants and press claims for more involvement with England.
The 27-year-old centre was part of the national squad which gained a fine series win over New Zealand last season.
But Cudjoe was disappointed to miss out on a Test appearance and is keen to put that right.
He plans to start by playing well in Friday’s Super League opener at St Helens and commented: “I’m now really looking forward to the season starting.
“The pre-season games were two good performances for pre-season games.
“I thought we improved in game two (against Catalans) from game one (against Hull KR), so the plan is to continue to improve each week.
“This week is a massive test for us going away to Saints, who are a good side – but so are we and everyone is raring to go.”
Cudjoe added: “I was happy with my performances in the games and it gives me a good base to build and look to kick on and have a great year.
“Missing out on England was tough, but it’s giving me the motivation to get back there and make sure I play next time.
“That starts by me having a great year.”
