Fit-again Leroy Cudjoe can’t wait to face Hull KR next Sunday and take the Giants a step closer to 2015 Super League glory.

The England centre returned to action after a four-game knee-injury lay-off to help Huddersfield secure a vital 30-22 triumph at Widnes eight days ago.

It was a win which kept the Giants on course for a top-four finish with four games of the regular season remaining.

And following this weekend’s Challenge Cup break, Cudjoe feels the Giants are in good shape to resume their strong top-flight challenge with a quality performance at home to Rovers and start to build some serious momentum heading into the Super 8s.

“I’m really looking forward to the game against Hull KR,” said the 27-year-old threequarter.

“Each week the games get bigger and bigger because the Super League table is so close, so we all know the importance of beating Rovers and building some momentum for a big end to the season, especially as we still believes this could be our year.

“Defensively, we’ve been great all year and our work ethic has been fantastic.

“If we can get some fluency in our attack and challenge teams a lot more with the ball, we know we’ll be right up there when it matters the most.”

The former Newsome Panthers junior was also full of praise for the way the club’s medical staff got him back into action in such good shape.

“The knee felt fine at Widnes. I had no issues with it at all,” he added. “We’ve got a great medical department at the club, so I had complete faith in what they were doing”.
