Leroy Cudjoe knows the Huddersfield Giants players only have themselves to blame for Sunday’s 46-26 home Super League XXI defeat to Catalans Dragons – and it’s up to them to put it right for the Good Friday trip to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

The England centre has admitted his side showed totally the wrong attitude against the French.

But he’s confident everything will fall back into place if their mindset is spot-on against their derby hosts later in the week.

“We didn’t have the right attitude at the start of the Catalans game, and we didn’t have it right all the way through the second half,” said Cudjoe.

“So we got exactly what we deserved, and it was tough to take.

“We’ve only got ourselves to blame for what went on, so it’s up to us to make sure we put it right on Friday.

“This week is one of those classic weeks where we feel we can’t get back out onto the field quick enough.

“We owe it to everyone to get that Catalans game out of system and put in a real Giants performance at Wakefield. This is the chance to prove we’re still a quality team.”

St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus has reiterated his club’s intention to take legal action against former player Lance Hohaia over his allegation that they failed to support him in the aftermath of his 2014 Grand Final assault.

Hohaia, who was knocked to the ground and punched for a second time by Wigan’s Ben Flower in the opening moments of the Super League title decider at Old Trafford, resumed his playing career at the start of the following season before announcing his decision to retire in April 2015, citing “recurrent post-match concussion-type symptoms”.
