Leroy Cudjoe is convinced his England Four Nations snub will make him a better player for the Giants in 2015.

Despite being an ever-present for his country in the 2013 World Cup, the 26-year-old centre was left out of the national squad for this autumn’s tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

But the fact that means Cudjoe is able to have a full Giants pre-season for the first time since 2009 is something he believes will stand him in good stead for the next Super League campaign.

“Being here for the start of this pre-season is something that’s really excited me. It’s put an extra spring in my step,” said Cudjoe.

“To be honest, I was in a bit of a hole at the end of last season. I’d picked up a few injuries and my form was nowhere near good enough.

“So it was no surprise to me that I didn’t get picked for England this time.

“I was obviously still pretty disappointed when I was told, but with the way I feel right now I’m happy with the way things worked out.

“I was able to go on holiday with my family and have a complete break from the game – which I knew I needed with the way my season had gone – and I’ve come back feeling great and ready to rip in.

“Because of my England commitments in the past, this will be my first full pre-season with the Giants for five years, so I know how much I’ll benefit from being around the club over the next few months.”
