Giants braced for big Robins invasion
THE Giants are urging their fans to turn out in force and make sure they out-shout the large travelling Hull KR army.
The Robins are planning to mark their first away game in Super League by turning the Galpharm Stadium red.
At least 3,000 fans are expected to make the trip from the east coast on the back of their thrilling 14-9 opening-day victory over Wakefield.
Main club sponsor, Lloyds TSB bank, have laid on ten 48-seater free coaches for Rovers season-ticket holders to travel to Huddersfield.
And with many more fans travelling independently, Robins officials are hoping to make Sunday's 3pm clash seem more like a home game.
But with the Giants having been backed by over 7,000 fans of their own for their Super League opener against St Helens 10 days ago, they are confident of creating an electric stadium atmosphere.
"We're absolutely delighted to hear Hull KR will be travelling across to the Galpharm in such large numbers," said Giants marketing manager James Brammer.
"They will definitely help to create a terrific atmosphere inside the stadium.
"But the last thing we want at the Giants is to make it seem like this is their 'home' game.
"We are desperate to build on the tremendous support we received for the game against Saints, and with this being our first game at the traditional time of Sunday at 3pm, we're sure the Giants fans will turn out in force to back the guys again.
"I know how much it means to the players to hear the fans getting behind them, and that's never been more important than this weekend.
"It would be fantastic to out-shout the Hull KR fans and give our boys the extra boost they need to get that first Super League win of the season on the board."
Fans are reminded they can pre-purchase tickets ahead of the game and save £2 in the process, while all Under 12s get in free.
