I CAN’T really take anything away from Huddersfield.
They ran hard, tackled hard and knew how to catch and pass a ball.
Unfortunately, this was something we failed to do!
Yes, I suppose I could start making excuses for the way we performed, such as the injuries we had to several senior players, while I don’t want to say anything about the referee’s performance.
But, whatever the case, I know those players who were out there yesterday are much better than their performance might have suggested.
It was poor, we all know that, and I had hoped we wouldn’t be seeing some of the woeful performances we saw two years ago when we ended up being relegated. Already, that’s not the case.
It’s how we respond to this setback that’s now the key.
There’s no point dropping our heads and hiding. We’ve got to make sure we do what we can to prove we’re much better than this.
