HUDDERSFIELD Giants are back in the Super League play-off mix.

After a miserable run of five top-flight fixtures without a win, coach Jon Sharp’s side came from behind to secure a thrilling 24-23 triumph at in-form Wakefield.

It was the Giants’ eighth victory of the campaign – and their third against the Wildcats – and leaves them just two points away from a top-six spot.

Huddersfield showed superb character to recover from a 13-0 half-time deficit to triumph.

But Sharp believes the key now is to build on what they have achieved, starting at Harlequins on Saturday.

“With the way results have been going, we obviously needed this victory,” said Sharp.

“It’s been a tough spell, but this win was for togetherness, belief and thinking at half-time that we could do it – and we did.

“I know all the talk will be about this victory reigniting our play-off challenge, but for us we need to focus on Harlequins, and that alone.

“It is vitally important we build on this result.”
