GIANTS coach Jon Sharp believes the four games against Warrington Wolves will hold the key to his club’s level of success in Super League XIII.

Huddersfield face two away games, one home fixture and a Millennium Magic encounter against Paul Cullen’s men in 2008.

Last season, the Giants faced Wakefield four times and enjoyed a 100% success rate as they reached the play-offs for the first time.

But Sharp admits the four meetings with the Wolves in Super League XIII will be much tougher and are bound to have a massive bearing on where his club finishes in the table.

Warrington have been installed as fourth favourites to win the Grand Final at 7-1, with the Giants at 50-1.

And Sharp believes the Wolves’ price has a lot of merit.

“Warrington are always tough, so to play them four times isn’t going to be easy,” said Sharp.

“We do have a fairly good record against them, and our victory at the Halliwell-Jones Stadium at the end of last season was crucial to us reaching the play-offs for the first time.

“But there’s no doubt they have recruited well for next season and will be even tougher to beat.

“A lot of the talk has been over their recruitment of (Australian Test centre) Matt King, but many believe (half-back) Michael Monaghan will be the key.

“But whoever we face, we know we’re in for four hard games and that if we are to build on last season’s successes we need the results to go our way.”

Meanwhile, young Giants Super League squad man Michael Lawrence, pictured right, is expected to retain his place in the England Academy side for Friday’s second clash with the Australian Institute of Sport at Wakefield.

The 17-year-old produced a solid display on the wing as the hosts were narrowly beaten 28-26 in the opening encounter at Warrington.
