NEW Giants signing Stuart Fielden won’t have to wait too long to face former club Wigan.

Huddersfield open their Super League XVIII season at former coach Nathan Brown’s St Helens on Saturday, February 2, in front of the Sky TV cameras and then play their first home game against London Broncos at the John Smith’s Stadium eight days later.

But in round three on Sunday, February 17, head coach Paul Anderson’s men are at home again to minor Super League premiers Wigan, when Fielden may feel he has a point to prove.

The former Great Britain prop was released by the Warriors at the end of the season after an injury-wrecked two years at the DW Stadium, even though he had proved his fitness with some strong displays in the Cherry and White in the final weeks of the campaign.

And then in the Giants’ next home game on Sunday, March 3, Fielden will again be a centre of attention as the Bradford Bulls – where the front-row forward earned the status of world’s best prop – head to town.

However, there’s an even more noteworthy clash between the Giants and Bulls in 2013 as the West Yorkshire rivals go head-to-head in the Magic Weekend at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on Saturday, May 25.

And for those hundreds of fans who now make an annual pilgrimage to the South of France, it’s Catalan Dragons v Huddersfield Giants on Saturday, April 27.
