New signing Craig Huby couldn’t be happier with the start he’s made to his Giants career.

But the top Super League prop knows the acid test will come in tomorrow’s opening pre-season test at Bradford Bulls (3.00).

And the 28-year-old, who brought the curtain down on his 12 years at Castleford Tigers at the end of last year, admits he can’t wait.

“It was a wrench to leave Cas. It was a decision I didn’t take lightly,” said Huby.

“But with the way things are going, I know I’ve made the right choice.

“After 12 years at Cas, I felt I needed to take myself out of my comfort zone and try and freshen myself up. This move has done just that.

“I’ve really loved the new challenge, even though the pre-season has been really tough.

“But even though I believe everything’s going as well as I’d hoped, I know it’s what happens tomorrow that’ll count the most.

“This is the first chance to see how we’re shaping up for the new season, and the fact it’ll be my debut makes it even more important to me.”
