TOMMY LEE has wasted little time proving he’s determined to make the most of his Giants’ chance.

The 23-year-old hooker or half-back last week moved to Huddersfield from Wakefield Trinity on a one-year contract.

The former Hull FC ace wasn’t expected to join up with his new club until the start of pre-season training next Monday.

But Lee knows the quicker he makes a positive impression, the better.

“I came here knowing everyone in my position is an international, and that the back-up players are internationals, too!” said Lee.

“So I’m fully aware of how big a challenge I face to establish myself.

“I’ve got the added incentive that I’ve only signed for a year, so the pressure’s on to make the most of this opportunity as quickly as possible.

“That’s why I’ve got cracking here at the earliest opportunity. As soon as I found out some of the younger boys were doing fitness work, I jumped at the chance to join in.”

And Lee is already excited about working with head coach Nathan Brown and assistant Paul Anderson.

“Everyone speaks really highly about them and I can’t wait to find out for myself just how good they are,” added Lee.

“Every player who’s worked under them has improved, and I’m very hopeful that by the start of the season in February I’ll be a better player and in good shape.”
