DEPARTING Giants coach Tony Smith has expressed his delight that flying winger Hefin O'Hare has been named in this autumn's Welsh squad.
Wales take part in the European Nations Cup next month and then they entertain Australia at the beginning of November.
O'Hare seems a certain starter for coach Neil Kelly's side, while former Giants teammate Rob Roberts has also been called up to the squad after spending the summer playing for a country club in Australia.
And Smith believes O'Hare could be one of the Welsh stars.
"I was absolutely delighted when I heard Hefin had been named in the squad, although I wasn't at all surprised," said Smith.
"He's been a very consistent performer for us all season and it's a testament to the way he trains that he hasn't missed a Super League game all year.
"I would have to say that he's probably the most enthusiastic trainer at the club and he deserves all the accolades.
"Hefin's still improving in the game and the experience of playing at international level will do him a power of good.
"I know he'll enjoying testing himself against the Australians in November.
"He rose to the challenge of playing against New Zealand last year and will do the same again."
