BRAD DWYER will go straight into the Huddersfield Giants side for Sunday’s home Super League XVIII clash against Hull KR (3.00).

The 19-year-old hooker arrived on a month’s loan from Warrington Wolves yesterday, having spent the start of this season on a dual registration deal with Swinton Lions.

Dwyer’s arrival will enable Giants chief Paul Anderson to take some of the pressure off Shaun Lunt and Luke Robinson, who have been sharing the hooking duties in recent weeks.

And Anderson hopes Dwyer’s arrival will make an immediate impact.

“Brad trained with the rest of the squad for the first time yesterday and has fitted in well,” said Anderson, who also confirmed forwards Anthony Mullally and Jacob Fairbank will play for Batley on dual registration at home to Whitehaven on Sunday.

“We could all tell straight away he’ll have a lot to offer, and we’re all looking forward to seeing what he can do.

“He’s a bundle of energy, and because he hasn’t featured for Warrington in Super League so far this season, he can’t wait to get out there.

“What Brad will do is provide some freshness in the middle of the field, which at this stage is absolutely vital.

“We can’t keep burning Lunty and Robbo out like we are at the moment, because they’ll end up breaking.

“They’re both in line to play again against Hull KR this weekend, but with Brad around to take over, it means they won’t have to play quite so many minutes. For that reason, Brad’s arrival couldn’t have come at a better time.”
