GIANTS Junior Academy head coach Chris Plume has been appointed the club's Player Performance Manager.

The 22-year-old replaces Stuart Sheard, who will now concentrate on his role as Football Manager.

Plume was appointed as assistant player coach to the Senior Academy team in 2003 where he did an excellent job.

And the club appointed him to the full-time role as soon as he completed his studies at Huddersfield University.

Plume is already the youngest Academy head coach in the game and has created a big impression.

His role allows him to become more involved with the club's Scholarship Scheme and all aspects of junior development at the club, alongside working for the RFL in the World Class Programme.
