THE Giants’ new Reserves side open their campaign against Castleford Tigers at Huddersfield YMCA tomorrow (2.00).
Fit-again Tom Hemingway will be expected to take a lead after recovering from shoulder surgery.
But he is just one of a number of Super League squad men who will be in Laund Hill action.
Also already confirmed are Michael Lawrence (right), Sam Barlow, Richard Lopag, Chris Lawson and James Martin.
On top of that, there will be spots taken by the two players who miss out on a place in the final 18-man Super League squad to face Castleford at the Galpaharm on Sunday.
Familiar Giants Academy performers from last season are also in the squad, such as Ryan Heeley, Chris Donlan, Craig Williams and Luke Roberts.
They are joined by several new faces, led by prop Chris Clough, who began in the Wakefield Academy before having a spell with top French club Carpentras.
Fellow prop Sam Crowther (from Brighouse) is another fresh face, while scrum half Scott Glassell and centre Michael Lawrence are others involved after showing up well for Huddersfield in the Infirmary Cup clash at Halifax late last year.
