GIANTS coach Jon Sharp today reviewed the video of Sunday's 28-22 triumph over Salford then declared: "Now the hard work really starts!"

While his players were beginning a six-week break, determined Sharp was back at his desk working towards Super League X.

On-the-field plans for 2005 are already well in advance, with Chris Thorman, Michael De Vere and Brad Drew signed up and other new recruits believed to be in the pipeline.

But Sharp has revealed the signing process is only part of the future agenda.

"I believe this is an important week in the preparation for next season," said Sharp.

"The players are now away for six weeks and have been given an active rest programme which they must all follow strictly, and in that time the coaching staff will put in all the foundations for next season.

"We will be sitting down to do a full and thorough review of the season that's just finished.

"We'll assess what we've done right, what we've done wrong, and look at ways of improving everything to make sure we're in even better shape for next season.

"The intention is to leave no stone unturned.

"What we discuss in the next few days will determine the way we go about things next season, so it's vital nothing is left to chance.

"It's been an encouraging season, and the aim is obviously to improve on that in 2005."
