GIANTS coach Jon Sharp is backing the fully-fit Rod Jensen to inspire a first Super League victory over Bradford Bulls at Odsal tomorrow (6.00).

Although the Giants secured two wins over Steve McNamara’s men at the Galpharm last season, they are still looking to break their away duck against the Bulls.

As well as the league defeat at the Grattan Stadium last season, Sharp’s side also suffered a heavy 52-20 Challenge Cup loss in June, when Australian powerhouse Jensen made his debut in what he described as a “baptism of fire”.

Since then, ‘The Rocket’ has become a massive Huddersfield crowd favourite, and that was enhanced with a try in his side’s 30-10 opening-day defeat to champions Leeds Rhinos five days ago.

And having now fully recovered from an ankle injury which had made him a big doubt for that clash, he’s ready to roll.

“Rod had a disrupted build-up to the game, and I know he will have benefited tremendously from having no such problems this week,” said Sharp.

“I’m sure he can act as a big inspiration for what will be another very tough game.”
