HUDDERSFIELD Giants will entertain St Helens in their re-arranged Super League clash at the McAlpine Stadium on Wednesday, July 7 (8.00).

The teams were due to meet in the League on Sunday, April 25.

But instead they faced each other in the semi-final of the Powergen Challenge Cup, which St Helens won 46-6.

The re-arranged fixture has to take place on a Wednesday because there are no blank weekends between now and the end of the regular season on Sunday, September 19.

It falls between the Giants' away trip to Hull on Sunday, July 4 and the home game against Widnes seven days later.

Huddersfield head coach Jon Sharp, meanwhile, has reported Darren Turner and Paul Smith are making good progress following their respective operations.

Turner underwent minor knee surgery, while Smith was on the operating table to repair a badly damaged nose.

And Sharp is hoping they will be back in action very soon.

"It's touch and go whether they will be available for the home game against Wakefield next Sunday," said Sharp.

"But I've very high hopes they will be back for the Salford trip the following week."
