THE Daily Mail have been banned by St Helens.
The national newspaper has reported today that no member of the Mail staff will be allowed at their Knowsley Road ground.
The move follows the Mail's story uncovering a betting scandal at the club.
Saints have pledged to co-operate fully with the Rugby Football League over reports that Sean Long and Martin Gleeson bet on their team to lose against Bradford Bulls on Easter Monday.
But the Super League club have now allegedly turned on the Mail, issuing an e-mail to rugby league correspondent Richard Bott informing him of the ban.
It read: "Until further notice, you and no other member of the Daily Mail/Mail on Sunday are welcome at Knowsley Road stadium either on match days or press conferences."
