HUDDERSFIELD Giants must brace themselves to meet the challenge of a rugby league superstar on a mission at St Helens tomorrow (8.00).

Great Britain's Paul Sculthorpe needs just four points for a proud career total of 1,000.

And he will be setting his sights on reaching that target in tomorrow's Engage Super League X clash against the Giants at Knowsley Road.

The formbook suggests the memorable milestone is well be within his reach.

With Saints coach Ian Millward able to select from all those who were in action at Leeds a week ago and also in a position to recall Great Britain full-back Paul Wellens, who was taken ill en route to Headingley, the former Super League champions will be strong.

They were unlucky not to pick up anything against world champions Leeds on their own patch, losing 30-18.

But the nature of the display has clearly put Millward in good heart as he prepares to welcome the Giants to town.

"The standard of the play at Leeds was fantastic," said Millward, who will be hoping to make it two home wins on the trot following the 40-18 victory over Widnes Vikings on the opening day of the season.

"I'm just disappointed we didn't get the points."
