SCOTT GRIX knows the Huddersfield Giants have to make the most of being handed home advantage in the quarter-final of the Challenge Cup.

Huddersfield host Super League strugglers London Broncos at the Galpharm on Sunday (5.00), with the joint leaders the red-hot favourites to progress into the semi-final.

It’s a draw that’s gone down well with everyone at the club.

But Grix knows that’s put extra pressure on his side as they prepare for a game where victory would take them to within one game of a second Wembley final appearance in four years.

“At this stage of the competition all you want is a home draw,” said the 28-year-old half-back.

“And, to be honest, we’d have settled for anyone at home, because we know we’re good enough to beat any of the seven sides who are left, particularly at the Galpharm.

“So it’s up to us to make sure we make the most of the advantage we’ve been handed.

“The fact it’s also London means we’re big favourites to get through. Again we’ve got capitalise on it.

“But we also know that makes this tie even more of a potential problem.

“London will come here with nothing to lose, and when you think of the quality they’ve got in their side, that does make them even more dangerous.

“They’ve been finding it tough in Super League, so they may be putting even more into their Cup campaign, which is their best bet for major success this season.

“That means we’ve got to be fully switched on straight from the start.”
