JON SHARP wants to see his Giants take their Super League form into their Challenge Cup campaign.

After storming up to fifth place in the top-flight ladder with their convincing 36-12 Millennium Magic win over Wakefield, the in-form Giants head to struggling Salford in the fifth round of the Cup on Friday (8.00).

Huddersfield start as overwhelming favourites, having won their last six Super League fixtures.

Salford, on the other hand, are three points adrift at the foot of the table after an embarrassing 50-18 defeat to Warrington in their Cardiff clash.

And Sharp is desperate to maintain the form as the Giants bid for new Challenge Cup glory. Everyone loved last year's adventure when we got to the final," said Sharp.

"And, having had a taste of what it's like, I know how desperate the boys are to sample it again. That's going to be a major source of motivation for us when we go to The Willows on Friday night.

"Playing against St Helens at Twickenham in last year's Challenge Cup final was an incredible experience, and we know a win against Salford would take us one step closer to going back to a final, only this time at the new Wembley!

"We know we can do it.

"But we also want to do well on Friday to maintain our winning momentum.

"There's still room for improvement in this side, and hopefully we'll see an even better performance from the side at Salford. That's our aim.

"We know Salford will be a desperate side, and will be hoping to get their Super League campaign back on track with a good Challenge Cup performance against us.

"They are always tough at home, and we know they'll come at us strong in the forwards. But with everyone having come through last weekend unscathed, we'll be ready for them."
