NEW Giants replica shirts should hit the town tonight!

Kit suppliers Outwear have promised the first batch of claret and gold shirts will arrive at the Sporting Pride shop in Cloth Hall Street in time for late-night opening.

That coincides with a visit to the store from several Giants players, including Stanley Gene.

The Papua New Guinea star jetted back into Huddersfield earlier this week after starring for his country in a Test match against Australia two months ago.

And Giants marketing chief Jonathan Wilkinson believes the presence of Gene tonight (between 6pm and 7pm) will add to the occasion.

"Stanley has always been a favourite among the fans and I'm sure there will be a good turn-out to see him," said Wilkinson.

"There was an excellent response when James Evans paid a visit a week ago and a lot of fans snapped up many of the new items of Giants merchandise that are available for Chritsmas.

"Hopefully, there will be even more supporters at the shop tonight and they will be in a position to buy replica shirts in time for Christmas."

Many shirts have already been pre-ordered and can be collected at either the town centre store or from the stadium. Contact the Giants on 01484 530710 to arrange pick-up.

There is also time for parents to contact the club to take advantage of the free season tickets on offer for all primary school pupils in the town.

The initial response has been positive, with tickets still being available for Christmas.

"Our phones have been very busy since the offer was announced," added Wilkinson.

"We always felt this was a great promotion and that's been backed up by the response."
