Upbeat Danny Brough feels the Giants could be finding their best attacking form at just the right time – and is determined to prove that’s the case at home to Catalans Dragons tomorrow night.

Huddersfield opened their Super 8s campaign with a last-gasp 30-22 defeat at Wigan Warriors eight days ago.

The Giants dominated the opening 30 minutes and led 10-0 before allowing their hosts to fight back and keep their unbeaten home 2015 Super League record intact.

And chief playmaker Brough is confident Huddersfield can bounce straight back and secure a victory over the Dragons which will keep them on course to complete a top-four finish and a play-off semi-final spot.

“It really felt as if our attack was starting to click in that first half at Wigan,” said the Giants captain.

“We looked pretty dangerous during that period, and that does gives us confidence heading into our six remaining Super 8s fixtures.

“Obviously, we got sloppy in that second half – which you clearly can’t do against a side like Wigan – and conceded a couple of really soft tries.

“But we showed early on what we’re capable of achieving if we keep hold of the ball and play to our full attacking potential, and if we build on that against Catalans we know we’ll have too much for them.

Catalans are a big, strong, physical team with decent players all over the pitch, and our first job will be for the forwards to win the arm-wrestle.

“When our pack do that, then everything else should fall into place – and we’ll be doing that at just the right time and when every fixture is becoming a must-win game.”
