GIANTS prop Mick Slicker is relishing the prospect of going head to head with teammate Iain Morrison in this autumn's European Nations Cup.

Slicker will this weekend be named in the Ireland squad for the international series and already seems a certain starter in coach Daryl Powell's side.

Morrison is also a red-hot favourite for Scotland's second-row and Slicker is sure there will be fireworks when the two front-up.

"I might be in the front row and Iain in the second row, but I'm sure our paths will cross on the field," predicted Slicker, whose only Ireland cap so far was against France two years ago.

"It should be a good clash between the two of us and I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also looking forward to starting for Ireland because it was frustrating at times having to start from the bench for the Giants last season."
