HEFIN O'HARE will be a very closely-watched Giant against Salford on Sunday.
O'Hare has yet to be offered a contract with Huddersfield for next season and could become a free agent on November 1.
That fact hasn't been lost on Sunday's opponents, who have admitted they are interested in signing the Welshman.
Football director Steve Simms has confirmed O'Hare and Leeds Rhinos star Francis Cummins are two players being considered for next season.
And if the 25-year-old were to make a big impact against Simms' side on Sunday it could help O'Hare's cause if he were to leave the Giants.
"We have about six players under review, including Hefin O'Hare, and are still discussing who to bring in," said Simms.
Salford plan to announce their retained list for next season shortly after Sunday's Galpharm clash.
Former Huddersfield Giants scrum half Gavin Clinch and Jason Flowers have retired, and Joel Caine is returning home to Australia due to family and business commitments.
Pack star Paul Highton has this week undergone major surgery on a serious hand injury picked up against Hull last week, but will be fit for the start of the new campaign.
