HUDDERSFIELD Giants are holding a meeting at the McAlpine Stadium next Friday (7.00) to update fans on the club's squadbuilding fund.

The idea is the brainchild of new director Alan Bamber, who is anxious to keep as many supporters as possible in the picture.

The aim of the fund is for fans to contribute cash in order to secure the services of at least one extra Super League player, and Bamber admits that interest has been high so far.

"The signs so far are very encouraging and we've already had several thousands of pounds pledged," he reported.

"It's important to let everyone know exactly how we're getting on, and hopefully encourage them to lend their support.

"We're obviously hoping to get enough money to be able to recruit one top-quality player to boost Jon Sharp's Super League squad for next season.

"Who knows, we may even get enough money for more than one!"
