SWINTON Lions are intending to relish their trip to face the Super League leaders.

The Co-operative Championship side will head to Huddersfield on Sunday, April 29 in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup.

The Lions know it’s one of the toughest draws they could have been handed as they bid to reach the last eight of rugby league’s most famous knockout competition.

But Lions coach Steve McCormack (below) has no complaints about playing the men from the Galpharm.

“We couldn’t have drawn a much tougher tie,” said McCormack.

“Huddersfield are the outstanding team in Super League at the moment and to play them at the Galpharm makes it even tougher.

“But, having said that, it’s a great draw for the supporters and the players.

“As a player and a coach you want to test yourself against the best and at the moment they don’t come much better than the Giants.”

Swinton came unstuck against Warrington Wolves at the same stage of the competition last season when they were hammered 112-0.

But McCormack reckons they have learned a few lessons since then.

“We had a tough time against Warrington last season, but things like that can happen,” he added.

“Warrington were putting big numbers past Super League teams at that point last season and it was a tough day at the office.

“Huddersfield are playing some fantastic rugby at the moment, a little bit like Warrington were when they played us last season.”

The RFL have now confirmed which fifth-round ties will be shown live on television.

Warrington Wolves v Bradford Bulls in the all-Super League tie will be screened live on BBC1 on Saturday, April 28 (2.40pm), while the Featherstone v Wigan clash will be broadcast live on Sky Sports 4 on Friday April 27 (8.00pm).
