GIANTS captain Chris Thorman is calling for a collective effort to help beat former club Harlequins in Sunday's engage Super League encounter at the Galpharm (3.00).

The 25-year-old playmaker is determined to see Huddersfield collect a third victory of the campaign against the club he served in 2003 when they were London Broncos.

Thorman knows it's not going to be easy.

Although Harlequins suffered a shock 34-20 home defeat to Castleford Tigers on Sunday, the Londoners have already beaten Hull on the road and held champions Bradford Bulls to an 18-18 draw at Odsal.

But Thorman knows that if his side can continue to build on the form they showed in narrowly going down 18-16 to unbeaten leaders St Helens last Sunday, the Giants will prove too strong.

And he is calling on the supporters to once again get behind the team and push their added weight to the challenge.

"Having played for the Broncos, I still look out for their results and keep in touch with some of the players," said Thorman.

"After last week's result when they were beaten at home by Cas, I suppose we'll start Sunday's game as favourites.

"But we can't afford to be complacent and take anything for granted.

"Harlequins are a team who know how to grind out a good result, as they showed in winning 10-6 at Hull the other week.

"So, we have been warned.

"We know that to guarantee success we must carry on from where we left off last week against Saints. We can't afford to let our standard slip.

"This is a big game for us, because a win could put us back in the top six, which is obviously where we want to be.

"We know we can do it, and hopefully the fans will get right behind us again.

"They have been fantastic against Saints and Warrington, and their support has definitely made a huge difference.".
