England Academy hero Tyler Dickinson is hoping Test success over Australia will be followed by a Giants’ Super League debut in 2015.

The 18-year-old front-row forward played in both clashes against the Australian Schoolboys a month ago, with the series ending one win each but England taking the honours on aggregate scores.

New Huddersfield Super League squad man Dickinson played an hour in both games and was hailed as one of his country’s best.

And with his performances having given him a massive boost in confidence heading into the new year, the former Siddal junior is relishing the chance to join the likes of experienced Eorl Crabtree, Craig Huby, Craig Kopczak and Anthony Mullally in battling for a starting prop spot.

“They’ve all got the experience and are really strong and fit,” said Dickinson.

“But when I’m training with them I don’t feel I’m that far behind them, and after the experience of playing and beating the Aussies I feel my confidence has really grown.

“Paul Anderson said to me before the start of pre-season that if I kept working hard and kept on improving he’d reward me at some stage with a Super League debut.

“In other words, it’s really down to me, and that’s a challenge I’ll relish.”
