GIANTS winger Mat Gardner is to join brother Ade in the Cumbrian side to face Tonga at Workington later this month.
The representative fixture takes place on Wednesday, October 25 at Derwent Park (7.30), with much of the attention expected to be focused on the Gardners.
They are the only members of the 18-man Cumbrian squad to play for Super League clubs - Ade will be in action for St Helens in Saturday's Grand Final against Hull - and will clearly have big roles to play.
Tonga will be keen to put on a quality performance ahead of their Federation Shield games against England and France.
It will also be a good test for Giants' winger Mat.
After featuring in 11 of his side's opening 14 Super League XI games, Gardner was restricted to just a single senior appearance in the second half of the season, and will benefit from the tough work-out.
* The Giants Squadbuilder are holding a 60s Night at the George Hotel next Friday (October 20).
The band, 'Never-will-bes', will be performing, with the event taking place between 8pm and 1am. Tickets are £7, available by contacting 07776 303397 or 07966 387509.
