Huddersfield Giants claimed revenge for an opening-day setback against Hull FC by humbling their rivals 24-4 on Humberside.

Head coach Paul Anderson’s side produced a five-star performance with tries from skipper Danny Brough, Ukuma Ta’ai, Jamie Ellis, Michael Lawrence and Jermaine McGillvary.

“To come to Hull and win any game is good, and I am happy with that,” said Anderson.

“Whatever the scoreline, 1-0 or 20-odd, to come to Humberside and leave with two points is a good result.

“I thought that for the first 40 minutes we were very good, we kept calm and composed and did what we wanted to do.

“The ten minutes after half time were not so good as Hull threw everything at us.

“But I felt that our defence was pretty good throughout and, at the halfway stage of the season, we can feel that we are doing okay - we’re certainly improving.”
