IT'S win or bust for Huddersfield Giants' Senior Academy side this weekend.

If coach Lee St Hilaire's side beat Bradford Bulls in their final grading fixture at Huddersfield YMCA's Laund Hill ground tomorrow (2.30), they will have qualified to play in this season's Senior Academy Championship.

But if the Bulls triumph, then the Giants will be facing another campaign in the First Division.

That happened last season when Huddersfield found themselves playing against mainly non-Super League Academy sides and rattled up big scores on a regular basis.

It was a situation that did little to aid the club's up-and-coming young stars who needed to be tested against quality opposition to help in their development.

Fortunately, the Giants' fate does rest in their own hands this weekend, with victory against the Bulls certainly well within their capabilities.

But they will need to improve dramatically on last Sunday's horror home show against Hull when they were thrashed 64-10 - and with new Super League signing Stephen Jones on show that improvement should be guaranteed.

Hull are by far the best team in the grading competition, winning all four of their matches so far.

But the Bulls have won three out of four and the Giants will be looking to improve dramatically to guarantee success.

And it will be down to the likes of Super League squad men Thomas Hemingway, Jason Southwell and Bolu Fagborun to point the way ahead.
